July 4th - Independence Day in the Nation's Capital

Well, July 4th is always a festive time in Washington. Throngs of people arrive to the National Mall just in time to enjoy the spectacle of fireworks, some of the best you'd ever see. As residents of the D.C. metro area, we are luck every year to just drive down 20 minutes to see America celebrate its birthday. We've arrived at the Lincoln memorial as seen to the right.


I found just the right place to set up my tripod on its short legs. As you can see it is just a perfect spot to photograph. The feeling was surreal once the fireworks began. Since we were sitting on the Lincoln's memorial's raised platform, the fireworks felt as if they were going off right in front of our eyes. Check out the picture to see what I mean!
