Canada, EH!

Recently, I visited my best college bud Andre in Toronto, Canada. Had an awesomely great time. Canada just stole my heart... people are very friendly, hospitable, and well knowledgeable. Check out the pictures.

I had some very interesting shots including Bush on a Trash bin, an Internet Cafe selling Sushi, a street beggar in Scottish skirt and bagpipe, and many more. I had like 400+ pictures, but I hit my limit on Flickr upload. I will probably upload the rest next month.

The rest of them are here on Flickr

Relationships And Stuff Like That...

Recently, I was talking to a female friend of mine about the male-female relationships, the complexity involved in each relationship, and the heart-break that some might suffer when a relationship falls apart. Interestingly, she and I had bad break-ups in our (individual) relationships and somehow, we were able to relate to each other quite well.

As we discussed the topic again a couple of sundays ago, an interestingly sci-fi -like thought came to my mind. What if humans evovled to have a relationship with themselves? Before you go "ewww...", read the rest of this blog, you silly! I meant, what if humans evolved in a way they had a relationship with themselves asexually...you know, like some trees/plants do!

Imagine how easy life will be (from a guys point of view)...No holding her purse at the mall and waiting outside the dressing room while she "tries on" a 1000 different pairs of shoes/skirts/whatever. No "Are you wearing THAT?", or "Remember what I told you last night?"

If only life were that easy...

A Fun Thought...

Found this funny thing somewhere on the web. It is about guys and telephones, read on...

The telephone- a miracle of the modern age, allowing communication through vast distances. Although this wonder tool has been one of man's most important assets throughout human history, it has also been the source of some of man's biggest dilemmas and many a headache, particularly pertaining to girls. This dilemma is only compounded by the advent of answering services, caller trace and other suchlike devices.

How true!

National Champs, Baby!

Congratulations to our Lady Terps for winning the NCAA College Basketball National Championship!! Boy, that was some game last night. The win was perhaps the BEST possible EVER....we beat Duke! Any win will be very sweet, but beating Duke is something else.

It is quite ironic that nobody at Maryland cares (or, should I say cared until yesterday) about Women's basketball. In contrast, the men's team receives all attention. Getting game tickets for Men's game is next to impossible. And the pricing is also astrogalactic. On the other hand, for for the women's games - get this - they were giving out FREE tickets across the coffee shops on Campus. Nobody was taking them! I remember getting 4 tickets for one of the home games, and NO ONE was willing to go out and watch the ladies play!

I believe this win could not have come at a better time. At the time of going into the final four, the on-campus newspaper conducted a (unscientific) poll, in which only a couple of student could name atleast 3 female basket players! Going to the final four was a big deal. More and more people were paying attention to the ladies. And when we finally won last night, all hell broke lose. I have heard of violent riots...and I knew they were coming. I drove off of the campus, thankfully, before all the rowdy crowd gathered outside campus and started setting fires!

I have a message to these maniacs: hey, where the hell were you when the ladies were giving away free tickets? what were you doing when the Terps were playing AT HOME to a nearly empty stands? Before you set off the next fire, just because you saw the ladies win on TV, ask yourself if you were indeed supporting the team in the first place!

I understand that Duke is evil (atleast considered so here at Maryland). They have a very apt name for themselves - "The Devils". A championship should be celebrated with a responsible behavior, not by turning over the Campus Shuttles and setting things on fire!

Anyway,

My hearty congratulations to the Lady Terps once again! You rock!

Springing Forward...

Of late, there has been nothing much "bloggable" happening in my life. The usual grind of work, classes, and on-campus fun is going just great! Spring finally seems to be settling in. Cherry blossoms finally are in full bloom, and it is a joy to watch the blossoms in full bloom.

More pictures are on Flickr...here

I have a bunch of trips comin up soon. Until then, I think there's nothing much I can interest you with. Enjoy the pictures though!

Peace!
