Space-age Duct Tape

[This was supposed to be posted a while ago. Again, I got caught up with "life" and did not have a chance to touch this. I'm very happy that all the astronauts aboard discovery made it home very safe.]

Remember one US lawmaker suggesting people to stack up duct tape?? Well, he damn well knows the use of duct tape. In fact, these days the duct tape went "space age"! No kidding. Yesterday, I was reading up what is going on in the Space with Discovery and our friend Piers Sellers. He had an amazingly dangerous spacewalk, where he had problem with his jet pack that's supposed to bring him back to the shuttle, in case he veers off of the spacecraft. Two of the straps came loose, and if that's gone, and if he veers off of the craft, that's it for him! There's nothing that would bring him back to shuttle! Imagine that...just getting lost in the space...that's a horrible prospect.

Guess what they used to glue back the straps? Duct tape. Pretty smart! Nice proof that small things prove invaluable under unexpected circumstances.
