Carry it or Check it?

With the holiday weekend coming up, a lot of us are flying in the coming couple of days. The TSA has restricted a lot of stuff to be carried abroad an aircraft in your *carry on* baggage. The good news is that you can carry those things as a "checked-in" baggage. So, if you are traveling short distances, try to pack everything in your check-in.

The TSA's website has a list of things that you can and can NOT carry on the aircraft. Check out this website:

Have a safe holiday weekend!

Ahhh, Mr. Favre!

I love the Packers. No, I am not from Wisconsin and neirther do I live anywhere near Green Bay. There's something to the Packers that appals to me...like their cheese heads (Cheesehead Fans), or their craze for Football in the middle of nowhere (arguably, allegedly, whateverly).

I'd hate to say this - Brett Favre's era might just be over! The great Green Bay Packers quarterback struggled again last night in a pre-season game with the Bengals. My heart was thumping each time he was stepping back and pumping to pass the Football. He was even finding it difficult to do a screen pass! I agree that the inexperienced offensive line can't protect him and provide him a good pocket. But come on, this is Brett Favre we are talking about! Perhaps the greatest QB of all time, arguably!

Is this going to be a repeat of the disastrous last season for the Packers? I hope not. I can feel the heart-break of the Football crazy Green Bay folks...they can't afford to see another Favre disaster! I'm still hopeful - hopeful that Favre would make a "comeback". The question to consider now is what if the great Favre can't make it this time? Should he quit in the middle of the season? Or, should he continue (remember, Winners don't quit) playing even if he is not making things happen?

Green Bay sure is not a play-off quality team this year. But lets not forget about the magical Favre. Let us all hope that he will make a comeback - and that too, a great one - and steps down on a high note.

Go Packers!

And there goes Summer...

Yet another summer has gone by. Couple of more weeks, and the University comes back to life with kids all over the place. Like a professor of mine says, summer is a great time for faculty. No one to disturb you, no one around you, quiet surroundings - you gotta love it!

It has been a heck of a summer for me personally. Loads of traveling
(check out some of my summer pictures from Flickr), lots of fun, a sea of sorrow from bereavement (I lost my dad in July), and the usual grind of work. I'm glad the summer is over - FINALLY. I'm ready for Fall, the colors, the cold, and eventually, the holiday time. I do not ever want this summer back! EVER!

Goodbye, Summer!
