Our Astronaut - II

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, we were all waiting to get together with "our astronaut" Piers after his successful return to Earth. A couple of weekends ago, Piers was in town to meet members of Congress, and we had a chance to hang out with him and have some great conversation. I was gearing up to ask him so many questions - from the sensational "duct-tape" story to the space station repairs.

One unique characteristic of great people - as I read in "How to Win Friends and Influence People" - is that they remember names! Piers greeted me at the door with my first name! A quick toast and a beer later, I began asking him all sorts of questions. My first one - no surprise - was on the duct tape. "Duct tape is great!", said Piers, "it helps you even in space!". He then talked about various thing about repairing the space station. Just real awesome!

Welcome back, Piers! We LOVED hanging out with you!

Lazy, Crazy, and Busy

I've been quite busy these days. Quite frankly, I should say, I've been lazy. Lazy to write blog entries, lazy to read, lazy to workout, lazy to clean my room. I really should pick myself up and get moving. I'm sure I will - I am promising to myself that I will start blogging once again, and clear all those "to blog" entries that are languishing as drafts. I promise to myself that I will get back to my workout schedule (Did I tell you...I lost some weight - I was able to get into a pair of jeans from my undergrad days!), I promise to myself that I will clean up my room, I promise to myself that I will start reading stuff regularly.
